Here at Concordia Capital Management we have a simple investment philosophy:
Patience
Preservation of capital
Investing in quality companies
We believe investing is a marathon and not a 100-yard dash; so always invest for the long-run.
Time in the market is more important than market timing. We aim for a real rate of return rather than a relative rate of return. Preservation of capital is paramount to our philosophy. Losing less than someone else does not aid capital preservation.
Invest in quality. This means buying companies with
strong histories of profitability, consistent operating history, a
dominant business franchise, high return on equity and a history of strong
corporate governance. Studies have shown that companies with strong
corporate governance have outperformed the market in terms of returns.
Turn-arounds do not always turn; therefore, we limit these types of
investments.
